Most of us in our academics or in work have to research and write analysis on projects. So it's indeed the best part and the most important task before initiating. My colleagues and I follow a method which we call, "Sherlock in action" to produce analysis.
When you have to submit an analysis, make sure what type of analysis is required. A Business analysis focus on description of the internal business process, weaknesses, strengths and scope of competition in the market. Do we have to suggest remedies? Yes, that's a question I raised in my very first business analysis. It is good if you find remedies, but better not include them on analysis. Where then? Conclusion is the best place to mention your personal opinion and suggestions.
A Quality analysis is where we assure the quality of a product. We try to observe the functionality. "How much the product is user-friendly? How far the components address the requirements? Is the product functioning the way we wanted to implement?" are my MUST in such.
Predictive analysis is what I love the most! You do not need to foresee, but you'll have to know what is trending and and popularizing and calculate the rough probability of the product being successful.
These are neither the only types of analysis nor the only way to produce a better analysis. In our "Sherlock in action" strategy, what we try to do is pretty much a detective scenario. We research using not only analytics but also with real world investigations through questionnaires, mostly. I am sure you have your own approach to produce an analysis. Feel free to share it with us here in the following comment section :)
